PARIS -- French supermarket company Casino Guichard-Perrachon & Cie. said it plans to sell a number of real-estate assets for €650 million ($932 million) as it further restructures its property portfolio.
Analysts welcomed Friday's sale-and-leaseback deal for its role in improving the company's debt-to-earnings profile, but said it wouldn't radically change the company's operating results.
"We believe that these deals should be taken positively given the resilient see-through yields, the marginal earnings-per-share enhancement and the group's resultant financial leverage position," Dresdner Kleinwort said in a note.

Hot spots in paris
The Eiffel tower always tops any visitors list of Parisian sights.
At 324 metres high, it is one of the most famous monument in the world, but really isn’t the most amazing thing in Paris, though, despite its fame. There are many attractions that are far older with a much richer history. There are more romantic (and less crowded) spots. There are even better views of the city (like the Notre Dame or the Arc de Triomphe) It is, however, a sight to behold due to its amazing architecture and sheer size. Just be sure to take the lift for a view of the city. Don’t miss the tower after sunset, when it sparkles again and again like diamonds in the darkness.

PROPRIATIS announces its positioning on the Belgian market
Well ahead of its initial schedule, PROPRIATIS proposes as of today on its website www.propriatis.com its first real estate goods on the Belgian market.
Already very well introduced on the French market, PROPRIATIS advances arguments which will convince a growing number of investors (residential and corporate) that there is a real estate market beyond the French borders.
Bruno de GRAEVE, its manager and founder, confirms that Belgium is among the least expensive countries in Europe, with an average acquisition price of € 182.2OO for real estate in the capital Brussels.
PROPRIATIS also wants its clients to benefit from very superior returns on investment on the Belgian market in comparison with other main European markets.

More Britons Investing in Parisian Properties
In the 1980s and early 1990s there was a trend for foreigners buying properties in the French capital, but this has slowed in recent years. Thanks to these reforms - and the new high-speed train service from London St Pancras - this trend looks set to be rekindled.
House prices in Paris rose 9.9% last year. They are now slowing but the city is regaining its lost prestige.
According to the Paris Chamber of Notaries, the proportion of flats in the French capital bought by foreigners rose from 5.2% in 1996, to 8.2% in 2006. British homebuyers represented 5% of foreign purchasers five years, but now account for a huge 10.8%, having bought 279 Parisian properties over the past 12 months.

French Economic Growth to Slow in 2007
(Bloomberg) French economic growth will slow this year as higher borrowing costs stemming from the plunge in U.S. subprime mortgages curb real-estate spending, the French statistics office said, lowering its previous forecast. Growth in Europe's third-biggest economy will slow to 1.8 percent this year, compared with a June forecast of 2.1 percent and 2006 expansion of 2 percent, said the statistics office, known as Insee. This summer's financial turmoil has darkened the prospects for global growth,'' Pierre-Olivier Beffy, an Insee economist, said at an embargoed briefing yesterday in Paris.

Celebrities at St Tropez an Award Winning French Real Estate Agency
The French resort of St. Tropez is one of the hottest places for celebrities and those who want to get a glimpse of them. Every summer, some of the most well known – and not so well known – stars gather in this sun-drenched town along the Mediterranean coast of France. As the summer turns to Autumn, it is still a popular place with great weather, without the crowds. For those who want to be like the stars, now is a great time to visit. This past summer was no exception as a number of famous actors, actresses, musicians and sporting stars made their way to this holiday destination. Tom Cruise and Katie Homes visited the resort on their Mediterranean vacation in the midst of shooting the movie Valkyrie. The couple often referred to as TomKat, spent time on the yacht of Australian billionaire James Packer and his new wife Erica before heading onshore to dance at the VIP Club.
